Winni Woods CSA, Week #2

Posted 6/21/2018 7:31am by Aaron Lichtenberg.

Good morning!

This week flew by, as we are sure the rest of the season will as well. We had a busy week at the farm mostly because of our furry friends...Aaron had quite the battle with our many woodchucks on the farm this week. They have enjoyed the buffet of broccoli plants that were set out over the last two weeks. After destroying 400 row feet of plants late last week, Aaron has been on high alert to get to the bottom of the problem. He thought he had them beat, to then put out his next planting of broccoli, and...poof...seemingly under his nose, they were ALL gone, again...totalling now over 800' of would be broccoli!

Fortunately (and unfortunately for Mr. Chuck), the circle of life took care of the problem (we hope). Just when he was about to get out of his comfort zone in the lethal department, Aaron caught the chance to see a beautiful red fox carrying away our furry friend just last night. You would need to zoom way in, but almost exactly in the middle of this picture is the fox scurrying away with the 'chuck in his mouth prepped for dinner!

Anyone who knows Aaron, knows that this story is MUCH longer and better, but this is the condensed version!
